Your CCPA rights
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, California residents have the right to know what personal information a business collects about them, to request deletion of that information, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, including for cross-context behavioral advertising. This page explains how those rights apply to Crypto News US and how to exercise them.
We do not sell your personal information
Crypto News US does not sell personal information to third parties for money. We also do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in the way the CCPA defines “sharing.” Because of that, there is no active opt-out toggle to flip on this page; instead, this page exists to state that position clearly and to give you a direct way to raise a request or a concern if you believe otherwise.
What “sale” and “sharing” mean under the CCPA
The CCPA defines “sale” broadly, covering exchanges of personal information for money or other valuable consideration, and “sharing” specifically covers disclosure for cross-context behavioral advertising, even without a payment changing hands. We assess our own practices against both definitions, not just the narrower, older idea of a data sale, which is why we can state plainly that neither applies to how we run this site today.
What information we collect
As described in our Privacy Policy, we collect information you provide directly, such as an email address for our newsletter or a message through our contact form, and standard technical information collected automatically when you visit, such as IP address and browser type, used for site operation, security, and aggregate analytics. How to exercise your rights
To make a CCPA request, including a request to know what information we hold about you, a request to delete it, or a request related to opting out of any data sharing for targeted advertising, contact us through our contact page and clearly state that you are making a CCPA privacy request. Please describe your request specifically so we can act on it correctly. We will not discriminate against you, for example by denying you access to the site or its free tools, for exercising any of these rights.
Verification
To protect your privacy and prevent fraudulent requests, we may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests, for example by confirming the email address associated with a newsletter subscription. We will ask only for the information reasonably necessary to verify the request.
Authorized agents
You may designate an authorized agent to make a CCPA request on your behalf. If you do, we may still require proof that you provided the agent permission to act for you, and we may verify your identity directly.
Other states
Residents of other US states with comparable privacy laws may have similar rights. The same contact channel applies: reach us through our contact page and describe the request, and we will respond consistent with the law that applies to you.
