About Us

Last updated August 12, 2026

An independent, US-first crypto newsroom

Crypto News US covers the American side of a global market: the policy fights in Washington, the tax rules the IRS actually enforces, the state-by-state patchwork that decides which exchanges and issuers can operate where, and the market moves that follow from all of it. We call this the policy-to-price story, and it is the throughline of nearly everything we publish. Most crypto outlets treat regulation as a sidebar to price charts. We think that gets the order backwards for American readers: a single SEC enforcement action, a CFTC settlement, an IRS guidance update, or a state BitLicense-style ruling can change what is legally possible for a US resident, business, or exchange to do, and the price reaction is usually downstream of that.

We are not a trading desk, an exchange, or a signals service. We do not custody funds, execute trades, or manage anyone’s money, and nothing we publish is a recommendation to buy or sell any asset. We are a newsroom and a reference resource: reporting, explainers, and market context for people who hold, trade, build with, or are simply trying to understand crypto in the United States.

What we cover

Our reporting sits across a handful of stable beats: breaking news and daily market updates; US regulation and SEC/CFTC oversight; global regulation for context on how other jurisdictions are handling the same questions; crypto taxes and compliance; price and market analysis; exchanges and trading, including derivatives and security practices; guides and education for newcomers and for readers filling in gaps; and opinion and editorial columns, including clearly labeled market predictions. Each of those beats has a home in our category structure, and each one is written to the same standard regardless of how niche the topic is.

Our mission

We want a reader who cares about US crypto policy and markets to be able to come to one publication, understand what actually happened, understand why it matters to them specifically as an American holder or business, and leave better equipped to make their own decisions, not more confused or more hyped up. That means separating fact from analysis, analysis from opinion, and opinion from advice, every time, on every page. It also means resisting the two failure modes that plague this industry: manufactured panic over every regulatory headline, and manufactured hype over every price move. Both sell attention. Neither serves readers.

Who writes this

Crypto News US publishes under four named editorial personas: Petra Voss (markets and macro), Idris Kellerman (DeFi and on-chain), Selina Marchetti (regulation and policy), and Delia Ferran (guides and explainers). We want to be direct about what that means: these are desk identities, not real individuals. They signal which beat a piece belongs to and which standards it was held to. They are not claims about a particular human being.

We disclose this rather than do what is common in this industry, which is to invent named personas with stock-photo headshots and fabricated credentials and then present them as real journalists. Our personas carry no invented biographical claims of that kind: no fabricated employment history, no invented awards or degrees, no stock or AI-generated headshots, and no social profiles implying a person you could go and verify. Each persona’s own page says plainly that it is a persona. Collaborative and data-desk pieces run under the collective Crypto News US Editorial Team byline.

If real, consenting, named contributors join with verifiable identities and credentials, they will be bylined as themselves and clearly distinguished from the desk personas.

How we work

Crypto News US is a human-edited newsroom. Our editorial team writes, fact-checks, and approves everything we publish. We use AI tools to help with research, drafting, and routine production work, never as a substitute for human editorial judgment, and we do not claim any content is “100% human” because that claim would not be accurate about how modern newsrooms of any size actually operate. We do not accept payment to shape coverage, and we do not publish paid or sponsored material disguised as independent editorial; see our Affiliate Disclosure and Ethics Policy for the specifics.

Live market data referenced in our coverage is sourced from keyless, quota-free public providers: CoinPaprika and Binance for price and volume, alternative.me for the Fear & Greed index, and DefiLlama for DeFi figures. Regulatory and policy claims are checked against primary sources where possible, including SEC EDGAR filings and the agencies’ own public statements. When a live figure is unavailable, we show the last known-good value, clearly labeled, or nothing at all. We do not display zeros, placeholders, or invented numbers standing in for real data.

Publisher identity

Crypto News US is an independent digital publisher. We are not going to list a mailing address, a founding date, or organizational affiliations we cannot verify and stand behind purely to look more established; a fabricated “About” page is exactly the kind of dishonesty this policy exists to rule out. As the newsroom grows and those details become genuinely true and verifiable, we will publish them here. Until then, the most reliable way to reach us is our Contact page.

Cryptocurrency is high-risk and can lose value rapidly. Nothing on Crypto News US is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any asset, and any market predictions we publish are clearly labeled opinion, not guarantees. Regulatory and tax treatment varies by state and changes over time. Consult a licensed financial, legal, or tax professional before making decisions that affect your money.
